As an owner-managed, medium-sized shipping company, we currently manage a diversified fleet of 20 ships on European and worldwide voyages within our group of companies. Financial Controller (m/f/d)

 
 

Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • Preparation of internal reports for the management as well as for external stakeholders, banks and shareholders
  • Budget preparation and monitoring
  • Co-operation with the specialist departments
  • Preparation of strategic (group) planning and forecasts
  • Carrying out profitability calculations as well as scenario and liquidity calculations Calculation of financing / project calculations
  • Data maintenance
  • Liquidity monitoring and planning


Your profile:

  • Successfully completed commercial vocational training, ideally supplemented by a degree in business administration; alternatively a degree in business informatics / economics or a comparable qualification
  • Expertise or interest in the shipping company / shipping / logistics sector
  • Initial professional experience in accounting or controlling desirable
  • Analytical thinking and a structured, independent way of working
  • IT affinity and secure IT user knowledge of MS Office products (especially Excel) and DATEV would be an advantage
  • Assertiveness and communication skills, enjoy teamwork
  • Fluency in German and English

Management Assistant – Shipping Clerk (m/f/d)

 
 

The following tasks are part of your area of responsibility:

  • General office management for the management (e.g. coordination of appointments, correspondence, preparation of presentations)
  • General correspondence and interface between management, shareholders and financial partners
  • Coordination of register entries (commercial and transparency register) and their administration with regard to necessary adjustments
  • Contact person for administrative communication with flag states regarding the flagging out of ships
  • Coordination and dispatch of “reporting” to the shareholders (e.g. quarterly and annual reports)
  • Preparation of shareholder meetings incl. taking minutes
  • Project-related activities
  • Checking and answering (after consultation with the management) incoming applications for shore positions
  • Supervision of the time recording system and support in the preparation of qualified employment references
  • Organization of occupational safety in the office
  • Event management in the context of company events


With this profile you will fit in well with our team:

  • Completed commercial training, ideally as a shipping clerk, supplemented by equivalent further training measures
  • Professional experience in shipping desirable, but not essential
  • Strong communication skills, business fluent in written and spoken German and English
  • Good IT user skills, especially with MS Office
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Team-oriented, structured, reliable and independent way of working
